Vihan Gautam Shines in Catch64 Rapid Chess Tournament Under 15 Category

We are thrilled to announce that Vihan Gautam has secured a commendable 6th place finish in the highly competitive Catch64 Rapid Chess Tournament, Under 15 Category, held on 1st September 2024, at Sri Kanaka Convention Hall, Hosakote, Bangalore. This tournament, organized by Catch64 Chess Academy and sanctioned by the Karnataka State Chess Association (KSCA), saw some of the brightest young talents from across the region battling it out on the chessboard.

The tournament featured a Swiss-System format with 7 intense rounds, each with a time control of 15 minutes plus a 5-second increment. Vihan, with a rating of 1479, faced some formidable opponents throughout the event, including a few higher-rated players. His determination, strategic acumen, and calm demeanor under pressure helped him secure 5 victories out of the 7 rounds, a remarkable achievement in such a competitive field.

Vihan’s journey to this success has been marked by relentless hard work and an unyielding passion for chess. His dedication to honing his skills, both in practice sessions and in competitive play, is truly commendable. Equally important is the unwavering support and encouragement from his parents, who have been a constant source of motivation and guidance throughout his chess journey.
